Winter growth for luxury travel company

BACKGROUND

  • The business this case study covers is a luxury travel company that curates and manages bespoke vacation experiences in high-end destinations. They tasked us with driving growth in their highly competitive winter sports category.
  • We were appointed in late 2024 to help scale this organisation’s paid media investments. Operating in the highly competitive winter sports category, and with rising CPC costs impacting ROAS (+82% 2024 vs 2025), they were looking to increase revenue coming into the business whilst maintaining healthy CPLs.
  • Two additional challenges also stood in our way. 1) Tracking conversion rates from lead to customer had proven difficult, which made optimisation towards revenue tough. 2) The seasonality of bookings within the industry means it’s an intense case of right place, right time, or risk losing out.

SOLUTION

  • Smart Expansion
  • We built an automated process using Salesforce and Google Sheets that downloaded sales pipeline data from their CRM each morning, structured them into the right data formats, then uploaded that data into Google Ads.
  • This allowed us to prescribe different values to a lead, an opportunity, and a full conversion. From there we could start to optimise around actual revenue for the business, rather than treating every lead the same.
  • We monitored auction insights carefully, to ensure that we pushed against competitors we felt we could outperform, and pulled back when we believed budget could be spent more efficiently.

RESULTS

  • By developing an automated conversion upload system, we’ve been able to identify and target higher-value customers for their business – enabling growth even as vertical CPCs have risen by 82% year on year.
  • It’s a strong example of how smart digital marketing tactics can directly inform business strategy when teams collaborate closely. The insights shared by our client’s team have been instrumental in guiding the strategic decisions that fuel this success.
